Beach Thoughts...

I am ready for our trip to the Isle of Palms and I am in a beachy state of mind. Here are a few things to start of the week that are beachy and fun!
Good Beach Read. Take it EVERY time to the beach per my Mom
because you find something everytime you read it
that applies to the stageof life you are in.

Vintage Japanese Fishing Floats...I would love to find
some of these for my porch. Just like bubbles...

Pottery Barn sells them of course,
but they are sold out of the small one. :(

Shell clip art from The Graphics Fairy.

A nice summer dress from J. Crew.

A preppy beach tote for all the beach reads.

And most importantly, a little beach bum.

And a little bit of sand!

Gettin' Crafty: Jones Design Company

This week has been a little busy with my sister graduating from nursing school and all of the fun activities associated with that, so I am a little behind with posting a fun Friday craft. Here is my favorite this week to put into the files. If I would have had the time I would have made one for my sister's pinning ceremony, but I got her a nice rosebush to remember her ceremony.

Jones Design Company is one of my favorite blogs. She is a great designer and always is doing something fun and inspirational. Check out her blog, here. She had a fun Flower week this past week and I can't wait to start working on some. I wanted to pass them along to you. Go check these out and the Jones Design Company Blog. She also has a wonderful font section to check out as well on her home page. Oh how I love letters and numbers!

Made: Collage on Galvanized Bucket

Need a simple Mother's Day gift? I made this for Easter for my Mom, but it can sit out all year.

Supplies:

Metal Bucket, any size you want.
Paint (optional)
Image printed on cardstock
Wreath Image from Graphics Fairy on cardstock
Modge Podge
Brush for Modge Podge

I had a really bright yellow bucket. I toned the yellow done with white paint and let it dry. I adhered the wreath image to the photo after trimming everything down to the way I liked it. Modge Podge image. That is what makes it durable. After drying, Modge Podge image to bucket.

How to make a Party Chick

I recently made these three chicks for my Stella and Dot party we hosted at the house. I thought they would be cute for a spring table or buffet for Easter. I used a Martha Stewart Living template. The instructions use fabric, but I used scrapbook paper and a dictionary page print from the Graphics Fairy. Just make sure you glue everything to cardstock to make the chick really stiff to stand up well. The templates can be found here at Marthastewart.com. I also did not put grass at the bottom. To make them stand up, I just ran hot glue against the base of the chick on both sides and just attached the oval base. It is really sturdy. Age the sides with brown ink.
